Chile AML/KYC and suspicious transaction reporting
Chile's UAF lists banks as reporting entities under Law No. 19.913, requiring them to report suspicious transactions involving money laundering/terrorist financing to the UAF and comply with the relevant obligations under Circular UAF N°62/2025. This is a Chilean regulatory baseline; BancoEstado's internal review process, thresholds and specific requests for additional documents are not published on the account pages reviewed.

Beneficial owners, PEPs and source of funds/wealth
Chile's UAF Circular N°62/2025 defines beneficial owners to include natural persons who directly or indirectly hold at least 10% of the capital/voting rights, as well as those who hold a lower percentage but actually control decision-making. Corporate customers must declare their beneficial owners. Foreign legal entities must also provide the identity and address of the natural person holding the highest management position abroad, along with information about their legal representative in Chile. Enhanced due diligence must be applied to PEPs, including reasonably determining their source of wealth, source of funds for transactions and purpose of transactions. These are Chilean compliance rules and do not mean BancoEstado has published a bank-specific document list.

Tax Residency Declarations, CRS, and FATCA
Chile's SII explains that financial institutions must conduct due diligence on new and existing accounts under CRS rules and submit reportable financial account information to the SII, which then exchanges it with other tax jurisdictions under applicable exchange relationships. The U.S. Treasury FATCA page lists Chile as Model 2, with status “Signed”; the table does not mark it “In Force.” FATCA is a U.S. regime for U.S. taxpayers; the United States is not a CRS participating jurisdiction and should not be described as having joined CRS. The specific tax self-certifications BancoEstado collects or the parties to which it reports should be verified against the bank's current forms and applicable agreements.

UN Security Council targeted financial sanctions screening
Chile's UAF explains, under Article 38 of Law No. 19.913, that reporting entities which identify a proposed or completed transaction involving a natural person, company or entity on United Nations Security Council lists concerning terrorist financing or proliferation financing must immediately report it to the UAF so that asset-freezing measures can be initiated. This statutory obligation does not disclose BancoEstado's specific list providers, screening frequency or internal blocking processes; no advice on evading screening is provided.
